Can i use the the same omc paint for lower units<br />om my fiberglass engine cowling, if not what is the best paint for the cowling?

That's what most folks do unless it stays in the water more than a few days at a time.<br /><br />Just do your surface prep. real well, use good quality primers & paints. Preferably materials that are catalyzed.

I have an old honda kicker that I sprayed with silver rustoleum several years ago.. It has held up amazingly well and the engine is out in the weather all the time.......... :D Can,t say much for the rubber gasket tho... :D :D

So little that looks good but the OLB is showing :) O.L.B. Old ladies butt. Thats Orange peel to the other folks. You should wet sand it and then paint another Light coat on it.<br />Personally I think it looks awsome. And you have 2.

solittle, what did you do??<br /><br />1. clean<br />2. sand<br />3. actone clean<br />4. prime<br />5. 2-3 coats<br />6. 2-3 coats clear<br /><br />let us know, looks great

Solittle,<br /><br />Did you take pictures along the way? A link to them would be nice. I like the outdrive design, especially from the interior space savings.
