my father in law has a boat with (2) omc outboard motors
v-4, 2-litre, looper.
I can't find what size motors these are. Any info on this? (I think 240)
He needs a starter for one as well. Any input on omc parts?
Thanks!
Rob
They are probably OMC Sea drives I belive the 2.0L are basicly the same as a 140hp Johnson or Evinrude. I had a 1.6L (part were same as a 115) and was able to find parts for the engine the tilt bracket is another story. I belive they were made from around 1985-1990
And both the 1.6 crossflow and the 2.0 looper are V4s, not 3 cylinders.
Sea Drives were built under the Drive Systems banner by OMC and were never given a hp rating by OMC. Yes, your 2.0 SD has the same starter as the outboard cousin. Your powerhead components and dressing will be very close, if not the same, as the 1988 to 91 V4 loopers.
I own a 4 cyl looper 1988 OMC SeaDrive 140hp 2 litre standard rotation. The attached picture is the said engine. If yours look the same then these are your engine descriptions. I just repaired the starter myself with Damper Pad Repiair Kit OEM Part # 391157.
