Outboard motor size?

I have a 22 foot hurricane deck boat fun deck.I was wondering if anybody has add more power say like a 225 yamaha or 250 weight difference isnt all that much?I know its only rated to 200.

please do a search on overpowered boats as this quesiton gets asked all the time.

While I believe 25hp wont make or break a boat or transom. If you ever have an accident and someone is hurt. They will sue you as to your boat being overpowered and probably win over even 25hp. I wouldnt do it just put a strong 200hp motor on the boat and be done with it. with a 22' deckboat i doubt you would notice 25hp anyway.

I know its been asked.I was just seen if any hurricane deck boat owners have done this at all.

I have a 2004 hurricane FunDesk GS 211 OB with a Yamaha 225 power plant... Love it and the top end speed and time to plane. Just keep an eye on the capacity plate and the ratings.
