outboard interchangeability’s

I'm new to these outboard motors are the parts from a 2000 model 5 horse Mercury 4-stroke interchangeable with a 2012 model 6 horse Mercury 4 stroke specifically the lower end thanks for any info

Possibly some of the Screws/Bolts. Get the Parts Lists for both and start comparing
