Hi, I have a 1983 Renken Bowrider that I am converting form an I/O to an outboard. (Not cost effective, don't want to hear it) From the keel to the top of the transom the measurement is around 39''. I know that most custom ordered brackets are designed for 25'' outboard shaft lengths but I wanted to use a 20'' shaft length if possible. If I make my bracket have a 26'' set back I could raise the motor to around 22''. Would this work or is a 25'' mandatory. I wouldn't mind going with the 25'' shaft they are just hard to find. I am most likely be using a 50hp-90hp outboard for this project. All input is appreciated.
