Other ways to find SN#

I have a white Kiekhaefer Mercury Merc 110. I know it's a 1960-63 because its all white. The ID plate is gone and the only numbers anywhere on it are individual casting numbers. Do I need the exact SN# or am I good just knowing it's a "60"-"63"? Help!! Also I did a compression test, I ran the hose through the air port at the rear of the hood, anyway I got 141psi on top and bottom. Is that possible or is the hose kinked? Thank you for any help.

Newer Mercs have a silver plug on the block, with the serial number. Failing that, you could try to look up the part number of the block.

jbabka2000 you can narrow it down to 1962 or 63 year model.
I think Merc 110 was from 1962, before there where Merc 100, 150, 200.
They had the gear shift built in in the steering handle.
Shifting and throttle was all in the handle, no shift lever at the side.
They also had an other top cowl different to yours.
In 1964 Mercury started to paint the engines black, maybe the small Mercs were white in 1964.
