Just purchased a very used Ebbtide Mustang, 17 feet with a 100 Johnson on it. The plate says the max horsepower allowed is 90 hp. The owner claims the boat came with 100 hp on it in 1985. Wondered if anyone knew anything about this. The lake I'm near is policed fairly heavily and they fine you for being overpowered, send you to boating school and after a time or two its even a misdemeanor. So I'm not going to run it as is unless there is some way of proving that this setup is original and I can somehow show that to an official asking questions. Any help is greatly appreciated.
