Optimax Smoke At Idle

I have a 2005 Optimax 150...about 125 hrs. I am getting a good bit of smoke at idle only. Sometimes it doesnt smoke at idle..sometimes it does.. I cant really figure out a corelation of when it does and when it doesnt. My thought is water in the fuel..but I dont get any alarms and it appears to be running fine. At times, it is pretty heavy, will quit smoking as much as I sit at idle and quits smoking at when out of idle. The smoke is white and doesnt have much smell to it. I always use premium nonethanol gas, quickleen and mercury optimax oil.

My thought after reading some other post is possibly water in the fuel. It recently smoked pretty bad after a good rain..I dont get any alarms or anything...any ideas?

White smoke is generally water vapor. You may have a leaky water jacket seal.

What type of oil are you using? If it even has a hint of blue to it have the compresser checked as engine will start to smoke just before one of these lil "bas***ds take a $800 dump.

thanks for the response. I have always used the mercury optimax oil...the smoke only occurs during idle and it is coming out of the exhaust...does that still sound like the compresser?
