The outdrive is a bravo 3, on an '06 sea ray.
supposedly 300 hrs.
Not many pics, I know but couldn't see any other areas to question.
engine (5.0) compartment is very clean, well maintained....there are no grease, rust or oil stains.
So , see anything ? good/bad.

Is that caulking around the gimbal housing in the fourth photo? That's never something I like to see...

that's what it appears to be....but I'm relying on "old salts" on here as to what they think. I'm not experienced on outdrive issues, signs, or symptoms..

lots of salt trails from the water inlet. I would be concerned about bravoitis. the caulking concerns me as well.

yep...I wondered what that was.....what does it mean?
and bravoitis?....They made it very clear that both manifolds had been replaced...and they were, I could see that...my common sense says, ok,but, only 300 hrs?
like I said I am not outdrive knowledgeable....
That "caulking" isn't on the other side continuously.......
if it is, what does it mean?.....obviously that area has to be waterproof...so?

Caulking around an out drive means it had/has a leak from a transom rotting away.

ok....noted. Any seconds on this from others?
Salt trails mean anything?
There is "spidering" evident in the transom hull paint...
This boat has not sold since spring......more flags ?

Whenever I see caulking around an outdrive, I assume either it is covering up a leak (quite possibly from a rotten transom) or it was installed by someone who maybe didn't know what they were doing (or who didn't follow the factory manual). Obviously, the former is a pretty serious concern.

Can t tell if that is caulking or if that is the FAO they are supposed to leave between the outdrive and bottom paint

If you zoom in on it, it sure looks like caulking where some the paint chipped off. In some places the paint is intact going from the transom to the gimbal housing, and looking at those spots, it clearly looks like the gimbal housing was caulked.
