Re: Opinions on Stingray ZPlane Hull
We regularly boat on Narragansett Bay and Buzzard's Bay. We own a 215LR with a 5.0 Liter Engine. We just came back from Martha's Vineyard, running from Vineyard Haven, through Wood's Hole Cut, and up Buzzard's Bay to Taylor's Point Marina. You can run around Buzzard's Bay and Cape Cod bay with a 195 or larger. I wouldn't make the trip to Martha's Vineyard in anything less than the 208LR. Wood's Hole Cut can be like a washing machine and West Chop near Vineyard Haven can beat you up good unless you have some weight and length. I've owned boats for at least 25 years including some pretty big yachts. Our 215LR, weighing in at 3705 Lbs. dry has proven itself to be a very stable, tough, fast boat. Take my advice and get the biggest boat you can afford. Go for the 208LR and if you can swing it, go for bigger than that. BTW, we bought from Al at South Attleboro Marine and am extremely happy with the sale and their excellent service. I'm happy to answer other questions.
