Should get busy posting for the 4th of July cruise.
Finally getting some boat traffic. Still no Go Fast loud boats yet. No racing around Bass boats either. Very odd also.
Local marinas have full yards of old and brand new boats. Loads of new open Aluminum bare hulls. I call them entry level boats. just full width Aluminum seats.
No noon time rush hour boat traffic at the marinas.

$3.75+ ($4+ marina) per gallon has that affect…..

$400+ in fuel for a day offshore

Agree I am in the small boat almost all the time. 5 gallons about every 2 weeks. Run all day. Every day.

you can complain, it just won't change anything.
having fun though, right?
My grown kids come up with their friends take the pontoon and go fast out to play, I seem them when they need gas or are hungry. Not complaining that is why I live where I do and why my boats are old tin, no worries about wear and tear.

Have a few more boats moving around. Mostly between islands and mainland.
Still marinas only with 1/2 of the boats in dock spaces. Latest generations do not need or like boats & their expenses.
Oh well.

Cant afford them.

Bought my first town home for $72,500 with $3,500 down. Mortgage payment was 40-45% of my salary. Had a roommate to make ends met.

Fast forward to today…the median price of a home in the County is $623,000. With 5% down, you’re looking at a $4,900 a month house payment. Would need to make $170,000 a year to limit to 45% of your salary.

Daughter bought a house last Spring. Had $35,000 to put down. Keep getting beat out by people coming in with all cash offers on $680,000+ homes.

I'd be careful with generalizations. Mine hasn't seen water yet but that's due to my work schedule. It will hopefully this weekend and then reside on the trailer until family vacation which is very quickly approaching.

Those that don't want/can't afford them offloaded them about 2 years ago after Covid "ended"....well the restrictions anyways. Same thing for the campers/travel trailers...big influx of used once restrictions were lifted.

My cousin's is in the water....well on a new lift at his cabin on the River...in Clayton NY.

In our area, the weather has been crappy. High wind, rain and storms one after the other so no chance for the big lake to settle down. Once the rain slowed, we had 100 degree days in the hot sun. Been quite a few years since we had this poor of a start to the season.
