Open fuse panel

Noodling around under the instrument panel on my 1988 23ft Celebrity, I see the fuse box is just an open panel - no cover or lid or other protection from the atmosphere (except that it's under the instrument panel). The fuses looked like they were getting a little corroded, so I replaced them all. Should I slather the whole thing with WD40 (fuses, connectors & all) to prevent future corrosion or is there some better way short of replacing the whole deal (which may mean a lot of re-wiring work).
Any i-deers?

If the contacts on the fuse panel are corroded as well, then replacing the fuses will have mnimal (if any) benefits. You may want to consider replacing the fuse panel with an updated panel like this:

I've got the Blue seas Fuse panel. Just put it in and it's awesome!!!!d

I pulled all the fuses & squirted the WD on everything - that should get me thru this season. I will put the panel replacement on the list of projects for the fall. Thanx for the recommendation.
