In the comments they say the guy on the board is blind.

I love how you can clearly see beer in the hands of all aboard, except the little girl up front. What a way to set an example.

My boat is pimarily used for my family and friends and no alcoholic beverages what so ever will ever be on board while it's in the water. My family is my most valued possesions and my my friends are next give or take a few. All I can say is the person at the helm should have had more sence than to allow that kid almost kill himself when he was driving and to worry about the board! WHAT THE F--K!. And Solar how come your not working on that boat?

I agree 100% no booze on the water!

I will be diving into the boat again Tomorrow!
I only get the weekend because I work Second Shift ( At work now SHHHH) and my wife works during the day so I have to play Daddy day care Mon-Friday. I took vacation to paint the boat so I could get it down all at once.
So there will be updates this weekend...on the boat thread and the motor!

Holy Cr@p!!

Ok...absolutely agree with eveyone's comments re the beer, boat driver caring more about the board, etc.....but what the heck was the guy riding the board thinking???!!! Not like he couldn't see that monster bridge coming!!!

Imagine natural selection will see them depart this world in short order!

Re: OOOOOOOOO!!!!! That hurt

I highly doubt he is actually blind, based on the wakeboarding style. (turning his head to eye the wake, not to mention actually popping for a jump would be TOUGH) That was more a joke from his friends...

He saw the bridge, he pulled out hard because he was going to try and spray it, realized he pulled too hard and wasn't experienced enough to get a good edge that late, and WHACK, right into it. (should have a seen a little jump to set the board on edge, he just kind of halfway mushes into it)

not a justification, he is still an idiot!

Looks to me like an entire boatload of morons. Glad they're not anywhere near me.

In the emergency rooms, the diagnosis or cause of death/injury is noted as "testosterone poisoning."

Why drink at all, having fun sober means you can remember what you actually did to have that fun. If one has to drink stay out of boats, cars, or anything else with wheels for that fact and stay at home.

Have fun and actually LIVE to talk about it in your old age.

It's called you can't fix stupid. Period. Some people are just destined to be statistics. The best you can hope for is they don't take out anyone else but themselves and that your no where around when it happens.

Re: OOOOOOOOO!!!!! That hurt

I believe you are supposed to drop to "no wake" when passing under any bridge, in the channel or not. If not the law, it should be, and it's a good safety rule in any event. And pulling someone under a bridge is worse, and definitely would get you a ticket for reckless boating if not specifically proscribed.

One also shouldn't run at high speeds parallel to a bridge. I've watched morons in large boats (30') running at 40MPH+ between a double bridge (I was driving my car on the bridge and could judge his speed).

And as for you tea-totallers, do what you want on your boat but don't be so judgmental. There is a world of difference between having a drink and getting drunk--the same difference as driving under a bridge "no wake" and driving under a bridge WOT. The boaters around here (this forum) are responsible and know that.

However, my opinion, around impressionable teenagers who don't have good judgment, you should set a good example by foregoing that cold beer while running your boat, even if it's just one. They can't discern the difference. My children are third generation motor boat operators and I did it differently than my dad in this respect--and he was the most responsible guy out there.

Well said Home Cookin'. One word sums it all up: responsibility. Choosing to drink only in moderation or not at all if inappropriate=responsibility. Choosing to operate your boat safely and legally whether it's on the trailer behind you or on the water=responsibility. Respectfully insisting that others do the same=responsibility. I love this forum.

And the life of the little girl up front.

That is the first thing that came to mind for me. These goons showing a little girl how to have fun drinking, boating and almost killing a wakeboarder.

Nope that stuff shouldnt be allowed on boats. Or anything with mechanical parts for that matter. The guy on the board was probably drunk too...thats why he didnt see the bridge until it was right in front of him.
