Only dribbles water form pee hole

1997 mriner 25 hp replad water pmp .old one did notlok to bein bad shap buti replaced it any way.tryed waterhose on tube no water or air would go up it.can i take it off to check to see if it is blocked . if so how do i get it off

lower the lower unit and put water hose to were water pump could go up to motor and see if it cames out then. water pump are not hi pressor . if water run out pee hole from hose when water pump is not working rebuild pump again and make shore all the part are in place

The first thing to do is to make sure that the tube coming from the block is clear as mud daubers love to get up in there and block the pisser line. Use a length of lawn trimmer line and get it up in there as far as you can to make sure that it is clear.

thank you . when i put back together and ran it. about two min dribbleing after it got hot good stream of water. let cool down same thing just dribbled warm up good steam on and off water very hot comeing out of motor

Yes, it will take a bit of time allowing the thermostat to warm up to 120 degrees before it opens and allows full flow out the pisser.

i didnot know it had to get hot for a good stream. 90 hp mercury i had turn water on start motor good stream right off the bat . but i learned how to change a water pump.
