onboard battery charger

Hello: Can anyone tell me if I should leave the battery charger on while I am docked and hocked up to power? I am new to boating.

Yes, especially if it's one of those 'smart chargers'.

You may want to consider buying a newer charger. You have an old ferro-resonant charger which hums. The new solid state ones don't...
