OMC Trim Gauge

I have a 1992 OMC Cobra engine and the trim gauge asks funny. When ever I move the trim up or down the needle in the Gauge bounces around and after several minutes it finally finds itself in the correct position. It is kinda annoying especially when trying to trim the drive to the fully up or fully down position. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the sending unit is failing. Last I remember, those senders are NLA.

the senders are nla and i just checked some more and still no one offers even an aftermarket one i can find.

I believe Sierra does, I got one on iboats here last year...
