My buddy says one way to insure you never need a replacement is to always keep a spare! Of course, you cannot step into his garage for all of the stuff!

Now, if we can get JH19 working, we can close this chapter! I know sombody that has a "just like new" tilt motor for sale! It's a BOOM of a deal!Originally posted by Scuba Diver Texas:
KaGee, Yes I got a new motor plus I cleaned the old one up and got it working again. Guess I have a new backup
I have the same problem I would suggest you try with boost cable to jump from the battery pos post to the terminal post that leads to directly to the motor if this works then you still need to do something with corrosion on the wiring on the solenoids what I did to seal my motor was to use sillycone on the body joints of the motor dont know how well it worked since it is now working I had to checked the wiring in this manor after I rebuilt my motor because I was still having the same problem after a few times of working good. These things have got to be super clean just like new or the voltage drop happens and all you get is a click For this reason Im changing out the old solenoids for relays later this yearOriginally posted by Scuba Diver Texas:
I have searched for other post on this and I guess I must be the first "LOL"

I have a 76 OMC Stringer 800 behind a 351 Ford. I put a new Tilt motor on last year after I got the boat because it did not have one and quickly found out what fun these little jewels can be. My bilge got flooded once and I did all sorts of cleaning and even pulled this little jewel and cleaned the water out of it and slow baked it and cleaned it and it worked for several trips to the lake but it is dead now.

When I get my new one does anyone have suggestions on how to water proof and get it to stay together while installing?? Has any one tried glassing one up first??

Thanks all
