omc steering kit, what is this?

could somebody please tell me what this is and what it does, does it enable me to hook up a steering cable to my 15hp evinrude? is this what the cable hooks to instead of a tilt tube?<br /><br /> ebay listing

This looks like the connector kit that has to be used in conjunction with a non tilt tube steering mounting bracket like that shown in the following link. http://www.boatersworld.com/webapp/...51&catalogId=10051&langId=-1&productId=712788

This looks like a kit to add teleflex type steering to the engine. The way these setups work is the flexible steering cable goes through the tilt tube on the front of the engine and attaches on the starboard side. This is the part that would attach to the engine and hook up to the steering that sticks out of the tilt tube on the port side. <br /><br />Very standard set up.<br /><br />Mac
