OMC slipping

Hi, I have a 1970 slickcraft. Repowered to a 350 Chev, Electric shift OMC outdrive. While crusing at 3K it went into a slipping condition, not unlike throwing it into nutral. At any speed under 1k it runs fine. Prop is pinned to shaft, not a hub type. Any diagnostic suggestions?

Re: OMC slipping

what do you mean by slipping? I was just wondering if that is what my engine is doing?

Re: OMC slipping

Sounds like a slipping prop hub... Do you have a spare you can put on and see if it works? These lower units also must have OMC Type C gear lube in them or they will slip that way too.
