I am having trouble losing power on my 1988 Four Winns 215 Sundowner. It has a OMC outdrive on it and 305 Chevy motor with a Quadro jet carb. Yesterday when I took the boat out with 5 people the boat was barely moving. I saw I had some water in my bildge so put it back on the trailer drained it and took it back out. Bilge isn't hooked up. I ran fine then with three of us on it. Then we parked for awhile started up and it did the same thing. So I brought it home changed the fuel filter and looked around and everything looked ok. However over the past few weeks when I use the trim button I sort of get a shock and my battery was also draining if I didn't run the boat for a few weeks. So I stated using my on and off dual switch and the battery stays charged. So I headed back to the water to take one last look before I brought it to the marina. This time the boat wouldn't start. I had nothing when I turned the switch. The battery was still fine. So I played with the handle and finally I got the boat started. So than I hit the water and I noticed everytime I used the handle and hit the trim switch that I was feeling a decline in the speed I had. The boat this time was going faster than earlier but still not it's maximum speed. Is it possible that cause there is a short in the handle somewhere that it's taking that much from the motor or what could it be?? Please help. It's going to be another nice weekend. Shane
