OMC Maximum Tilt in Up Position

I have a 1989 OMC I/O with 4.3L engine. Is there anyway to get the OMC drive to tilt higher in full up position? Currently at maximum tilt up, the unit is still below the bottom of the transom and the propeller is submerged when boat is in the water. Trim/tilt fluid resevoir is full.

Are the trim cylinders extended fully? If so thats all you can get.

That is normal for the Cobra drive with 60 degree tilt.
OMC Stringers had 90 drgree tilt.
Since yours is Cobra 60 drgrees is all your going to get.

Hey I have an 89 3.0 liter with cobra outdrive and mine will lift the drive rite out of the water which shows me about 12 to 14 inches on lift rods, my problem was an air lock.now lifts nice and high. good luck with yours. i too was told thats all the lift i would get.
