I was searching online on amazon, ebay, etc, for some OMC sterndrive literature and i was wondering which would be the best one to get. Seloc, Clymer, Ken Cook, etc. Ive seen some for as little as $20 to as much as $150 for an original service manual. Which manual would give me the best info for a 1978 omc 140 with stringer sterndrive and would it be wise to get a Chevy service manual for the engine and carburetor?
Thanks.

Agreed I've had the 4.3 Cobra for 18 years and used the factory shop manual many times. Paid for itself very quickly!

the one and only source for factory OMC manuals https://www.outboardbooks.com/brand/OMC/

the manual will have everything you need. Not sure where you would get a GM service manual for the industrial only engine used in marine service. mostly there was only parts manuals.
