OMC Green

Does anybody know a source for the green paint used on the early 70s (1972) Johnson and Evinrude outboards? The only place I have found so far is in Canada and that is a bit far from S. Texas. Surely somebody in the US makes the stuff. None of the OMC dealers around here want to mess with it. Their advice is buy a new motor and you can get touch up paint!<br />Thanks in advance<br /><br />Russ In S.Texas

Have you checked the selection at places like West marine? The absolute exact paint code may be challenging,but I bet you can get real close at some of the marine stores.Otherwise if you have a sample piece that is not faded too bad ,you can have it computer scanned at a reputable auto paint supplier(like Setape in Corpus) and get a near exact match.good luck.
