OMC fuel tank?

I've got a red steel 6 gallon fuel tank for my 1991 28 hp Johnson and was wondering how it is vented? There is no screw/vent on the cap. When I leave the cap tight it builds pressure while sitting in the sun then floods out the motor. I believe the tank is also 1991 vintage and is in really good shape.

There are two pins that get pushed in that allow air into the tank when you connect the fuel hose.

True. Also, one of my tanks has a manual vent screw on the cap.
