Take off the Distributor cap, grab the rotor, and it should move 1/4 of a turn one way, or the other, then spring back? If not, take off the points breaker plate, and clean, & lube your mechanical advance weights, & springs.
Guys, this thread is over 9 months old... If there was a solution, I think the OP would have been back to us... Please read the forum rules and not post to old threads. It's in the rules, and in the large "Help Tip" box are the top of the forum.... Do not post to threads more than 90 days old....
I am still trying to find a solution to this. I have tried everything above. My next attempt may be to replace the ignition system with an electronic ignition.
