omc 2.3l pulley swaps?

i have a 1990 freedom 170 and was wondering if their is a serpentine belt pulley set i can change to. my crank pulley is bent and rusty and my alternator pulley is rusty.

Or am i looking at custom pulleys? No more oem left

2.3 omc engine is based off of the industrial ford 2.3 engine which is based off of the automotive 2.3 engine. all the same engine, all the same issues (well you have points probably versus a TFI distributor)...

anyway, just go grab some pulleys off of mustangs and rangers in the u-pull yard and piece together a setup.

may take you a couple times with figuring belt length if you dont grab the belts from the vehicles you salvage to the pulleys from....

a set of ford pulley puller/pushers ($28 from advance or autozone) are a worthwhile investment. cant remember but I think it uses a 15mm and an 18mm for that tool. just thread them deep or you risk stripping out the first couple threads and you're done.

you might look on turboford.org as one or two of the guys on there bought sunbird runabouts with the 2.3 engine and at one point thought to put a 2.3t engine into them. lol.

no the pulleys are different i looked i beleive the cars are external balanced. my boat doesnt have a balancer just a pulley.

They are but that dpesnt mean they qont fit on the crank snout. And you can have thecrank pulley balanced at any good machine shop.
