Re: olympic hockey tomorrow
True on all counts.
I'm just a diehard guy when it comes to my hockey. My Grandfather was named to the US Olympic Hockey Team in 1928, and played at ND and Minn. (For reasons unbeknownst to me we chose not to send the team to compete).
My Dad played and was a C on the Syracuse Hockey Team in the 50s.
And I never learned to skate.
I think it has more to do with the Olympic ice then anything Volphin, to much at risk, if you miss you are now badly out of position, the whole tournament has been more conservative so far, but that can all change in a moment.
The Olympic ice just changes so much of the game as opposed to NHL ice, so much more room, passing and speed are much more pronounced, and from what I have seen the boards in Sochi are dead compared to the NHL specs, the physical side is bound to suffer.
