Older Mercury 50hp

We just bought a 15ft boat with an old Merc 50 on it. Year unk. My dad sent me an email saying the serial number is 752222. I've checked a few websites and nothing shows me what year it is via the serial #.

Right now this is the only picture I have, I'll get better ones when I get home..

Do you think that may be a 7052222 rather than 752222?

I found that to find details about my engine I had to put OA in front of the serial number in order to find anything...after I did this I found a model number and the model number makes finding parts MUCH easier.

This is a Canadian serial number beginning with 7, not the 0A series.

My serial did not begin with oa but it required it to look up parts...is your motor a 3 cyl? Maybe OG series

It looks to be a late 1975 model.

Yep, it is a 7052222. Being I wasn't home at the time, and I was only going off the information supplied by my Dad..

That's better and yes, it is a Canadian built 1975 engine.
