Older Johnson to new controls?????

I have a 1985 Johnson vro 150. It has the big reg plug coming out of motor. The 1998 stratos had the 175 fight and it blew up. All the controls are gone and only have two square plugs that I see up where the controls used to be. I have older controls on the way and they don’t match these plugs. What’s my next move cut wires and splice?

See a dealer and see if adapter cable is still available.

Agreed, last I heard there is an exact replacement adapter.

Yeah, re-read that.

To clarify, did you order the wrong control? Because I thought your existing control had the wrong plugs back by your motor.
