The TN26 used the archaic guilotine-style or tower-style points. Good motors but about 1 generation too old to easily restore (really based on the 1939 DT-AT-LT 5-horse that was restyled into the 1941+ TS-TD20). Those old bronze bushed motors need to have really tight clearance on the main bearings in order for them to run properly, otherwise you get leaks of crank pressure from the opposing cylinder that will cause strange running conditions (i.e. a motor that won't idle back down after running it wide open). They were big sellers in their day but the old rotary valve 5 was discontinued after 1953 (remember that when it come to parts). I have one and I love it, but a later 5? is easier to restore and live with.
