Hi I really hope someone can help me out. I got a free boat a 1970 shell lake 15 ft V hull with a Chrysler 85 hp motor and have been restoring it. I have everything done and went to order shifter cables for the single lever Chrysler shifter. The boat didn't have the cables when i got it.

I measured from the control box to the motor rounded to the nearest foot and then added 3 feet as suggested by the site I was getting the cables from ( it came to 13ft). They didn't have any specifically for Chrysler, but had the universal cables that had the threaded ends which is on the ends of the motor and control hook ups. When I got the cables I hooked them up to the motor and everything went great. I ran them up to the control box and the after running them into the box I found the threaded end would not reach the hook up. I returned them and got the 14 ft cables and them same problem. Both were about 1 inch to short.

I am totally lost now and not sure if I am doing something wrong or if the universal cables aren't the right ones.

I appreciate any help I can get.

Thanks,

Jaymz7
