I have a starcraft aluminum boat and am looking to identify the model, yaer and make of the boat along with other statistics such as engine size, capacity and weight,

i do know the boat was built before 1986. The boat does NOT have the standard starcraft identification plate, but there is a small plate that has R.P. 4437 on it. The boat is 14‘ 2” long and measures 4’8” wide in the middle. It has 4 seats… it looks like a seafarer, but the measurements of my boat do not line up with this model. Anyone have sny ideas on what this boat is or where i can go to get more info?

Does it look like this one? It was a little foggy when the picture was taken. Do you have paperwork?

the boat is old and most companies wont have the records, easiest way is to look for similar boats and ask sellers for the decal plates to get an idea, or go to the local marina.

Or simply post some photos. Not knowing where the OP lives might mean he has yard planter with out paperwork.

I do not have any orignal paperwork

What does your registration say is the better question? This is based off your comment that the Starcraft ID seems to be missing and there's a different ID plate attached. Your ownership paperwork should show the original manufacturing year UNLESS its been issued a new HIN by the registering authority...

You'd need to know the manufacturing year to have a starting point as Starcraft has made those small aluminum boats over a NUMBER of years...with various configurations.

The easiest thing to do is simply do the calculations yourself.
Note: Length in FEET

Max Capacity (People) = (vessel length x vessel width) ÷ 15

Max HP = (Boat length x boat width) = {boat square footage}

Square Footage < 52:
<35 Sq.ft: 3HP
36-39 Sq.Ft: 5.5HP
40-42 Sq.ft: 7.5HP
43-45 Sq.ft: 10HP
46-52 Sq.Ft: 15HP

Square Footage < 52 (Flat Bottom/Hard Chined):
<35 Sq.ft: N/A
36-39 Sq.Ft: 3HP
40-42 Sq.ft: 5HP
43-45 Sq.ft: 7.5HP
46-52 Sq.Ft: 10HP

Square Footage > 53
If the boat has remote steering and at least 20″ transom height(2 × Factor) −90
If the boat has no remote steering, or less than 20″ transom height (Flat Bottom/Hard Chine Boats) (0.5 × Factor)−15
If the boat has no remote steering, or less than 20″ transom height (All Other Boats)(0.8 × Factor)−25
