Re: old motors

I don't think you will gain anything by posting the same question in different fora, Dave. It only confuses the people who want to help.

List the Firestone engine as a Firestone and the numbers after.

Your Buc was made by Gale division of OMC. Probably in the 50s.

Try posting photos. That will be your best chance.

Good luck. :)

Re: old motors

The Firestone is a 1948 3.6hp made by Scott-Atwater.

Brown Buccaneers were made 1950-56.

Firestone 10-A-1 is a 3.6 49 manual start. Built by Scott Atwater.
H10J plugs set at .035,points set at .020,Fuel mix 16:1 use TCW3 rated oil.
Need more info on the Buc.number of cylinders, built in or remote tank.
see if you can measure the stroke.Number of blades on prop, diameter of prop.Full gearshift,360 degree reverse no 360 reverse.Primer knob or choke.
Of course pics would be best.
