Sorting out a '73 150 on a lighter 17'. Can you suggest a prop? I get 5200-5400rpm with a stock alum. Merc 21 and little bow lift. I have no pad on the bottom and my cavitation plate is about 2" above the bottom. Motor has been raised about 1.5" to this position. Manual says 5300-5800 rpm.<br /><br />My latest suggestion is a Laser 20 pitch I will try if I can find one.<br /><br />Had a problem with a Michigan prop making it run poor because of a larger diffuser ring, never seen that before. Runs well now and have verified the tach with test equipment. <br /><br />Used an ES-325 EZ-Tach I found on the net for $55. Need to use an old wire to get it away from the other wires and it worked great.
