Old Honda 7.5HP (BF75) fuel line - buy NoS or replace connector?

Hi everyone,

I have a very old honda BF75 (the 7.5 HP, not the 75hp) and my fuel line connectors finally bit the dust.

I was looking for a new line and everyone seems to be saying that they just don't make those old Honda fittings anymore and recommended changing the connectors on the actual outboard to something more modern. However, they also said a lot of things like "those connectors have the two dots/balls on them." My connectors look an awful lot like more standard mercury connectors and not really like the old honda ones I see online, so maybe a PO did the swap already?

So I have two questions Can someone take a look at my connector (photo attached) and help me figure out if these are old honda connectors or something more modern? Happy to take measurements or anything that would help with identification. And then, if they are the old honda ones, is it worth swapping them out.... ie how hard of a job is this?

Thank you all

Don't know what era yours is but on my 1980's 7.5's the orientation is opposite to yours.
The pointed guide/locking pin is at the top on mine.
I don't have access to them right now so I can't measure.

I know on models newer than mine they changed the connector so it's not possible to try and hook it up incorrectly.

I run into quite a few of these. Honda suggests you buy both sides, converting to their later "square" post setup. Not cheap....

I've found the Yamaha connector works just fine on the older connectors like that.

Easy to find - ACE Hardware and WalMart both sell them - and they don't leak. What more can you ask for?
