Finally i have started the cosmetic part of this starcraft restroation and all i can say is this, old gel coat is like working a soft balsa wood.
After you cut ( or i cut the old gel with a oribital and 80 grit) i can only say this. It is a wood wooker's dream, so soft and workable yet adhere's with as much strength as wood to wood with glue id say treat it like gold to all who venture there.8) it's almost as soft as balsa wood and if you work wood you know what can be done with a wood like that,
8) skim coat's to ge a truly flat finish not, so wtih stuff it cut's flat like butter. You can see the valley's as you go, i can only hope the (interlux prekote) is as workable as this gel is..................o
