Hey Folks,

I recently received my grandfather's old fishing boat and I need a bit of repair advice. It has a fairly large crack just behind the driver seat and I would like to know how I would go about repairing it.

Also, it has some significant dings from loading it onto a trailer, which I also need info on. It was a bit hard to get a good picture of the loading damage, but the damage is along one of the sharp edges on the side. I've attached a link to some pictures, any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

When the forum stops being in flux 48times a day & they've had a chance to work out the problems associated w/ the site upgrade, I highly suggest posting the pix IN your posts, rather then as attachments. Some can't access 3rd party host sites to view the pix.

I suspect there is a soft deck beneath that seat. The crack may only be the beginning of a fairly long project. It's hard to see much detail in the loading damage pix, but it looks to me like the raw fiberglass has been exposed beneath the gelcoat. And that it's opened the interior of the boat to water intrusion.

Better pix would be great. And for forum posting purposes, Photobucket is significantly better then flickr, IMO.
