Re: Old evinrude 25hp won't budge.
It could be a 1972 model, I think you are missing some of the model number.

Try laying the motor down, so that that pitons are faceing up, then pour some penetrating oil down the spark plug holes. I would normally use ATF for this, it really gets in well. Leave it like this for a week, then try and turn the engine by grabing the flywheel and rocking it back and forth.

Normally the engine should only be turned clockwise as the waterpump impeller will be damaged by turning anticlockwise, but since the motor has sat for 6 years, the impeller is already beyond servicable use.

If this frees up the motor, then you need to remove the lower unit (which has to happen anyway) and replace the impeller.

If this doesn't free up the motor, then a rebuild is in line. This isn't as hard as it may seem. With a manual, and us here, you can do it.

Then pull the carb off, and clean it out really well, use carb cleaner and compressed air, rebuild it with a new kit (available from you local Evinrude dealer) that has a plastic float.

You really need to get a manual.

by the way, Welcome Aboard!
