Old Crosby Sled

hello all,

New to the forum and new to boats. Just bought a 65-69? Crosby sled. Here are some pics I took after getting it home last night. Had to install a new axle and leaf springs to get it home. Paid $200 dollars for it. Not sure if that was a good price. Motor was working 4 to 5 years ago. Parked it after his Grandfather died and never attempted to start it back up. Any Suggestions on how to go about trying to start it. Is there anything I need to do before I turn the key to start it. Like i said i've rode in boats but that was about it. Never owned one and never had to take care of one. Anybody got any helpful advice?

Welcome to iboats. go to the johnson forum, and read all of TOP SECRET. you will love that boat, the 35 is perfect power for it. we will get you running in the Johnson forum. post your motor questions there.

That's a great looking little boat! That 35 will get you across the water, my neighbor had one just like it on a 16 footer. I think it was a Sea Ox, it was green anyway and that went pretty good.
Keep use up to date on how things are going while fixing it up. "Lots of pictures please."

Still have the 69 Crosby? I have the same one, I am missing the steering and have a 5.5, would love to put a 35 on her!!
