I have a 77 Newman Charger with a 1968 85 HP Johnson OB on it, and got tired of trying to keep it running, so I resorted to working on my boat which I had purchased only for the engine parts. This "parts boat" is an old T-Bird with a 60 HP Johnson OB, which after I replaced the starter and wired up the solenoid and ignition coil, appears to run great. It'll hit the water tomorrow, and I'm excited. I'll get the dates and exact model # tonight.

Underneath the seats is rotted plywood, so theyll have to come out. Anyone got a good source for replacment seats (mine are back to back that convert into a flat bench?

Also, wheres a good spot for replacement carpet (assuming I even want to put carpet back in)?

I appreciate any info you guys share.

Nate

Been running this boat with no carpet and the original seats that are busted...but it is so much fun. I love this old boat...

i just finished restoring a 70 19' apache, those things were built like tanks. the bad news is, if the deck is rotten then the stringers are too. also check the transom good before you leave a motor in the drink.
