#1- when I removed my stringers it looked like they used 1/2" or 3/4" plywood, Ive read in some threads that guys are doubling up 1/2" and using 1.5 CSM in between? is there a reason for this? I understand its slightly wider, is it stronger than a piece of 3/4"plywood?
#2- I didnt notice any cleats on any stringers to screw the deck to? do I need to put some in? or is it ok to just PL the deck to the stringers?
And finally what are we using for 1/4" spacers to keep the stringers off the hull while bedding them in the PL?

Now the motor mounts.
#1- I plan on building a plywood frame to glass over, how thick should I make the interior wood that the lag bolts screw into? and how should I build it? glue 2-3 pieces of 3/4" plywood together? seems glued plywood would give a better bite for the lag bolts.

You can use most anything to space the stringers off the hull. I had some washers handy from clamping the transom I used and removed them after the pl set a little. I'm going to glue some 2x2 cleats to my stringers to screw the deck to. You can use pb PR pl to just glue the deck down, or screw to the stringers, since the screw holes will be filled and sealed. Though I wouldn't go that route.

Where my stringers progressed past the rear seat and go underneath the motor where the motor mounts will be, I glued ply together, 4 pieces of 3/4, mimicking the original construction. Once the floor is down I'll pb the motor mounts in place and the lag bolts will go through this into my quadrupled up stringer.

I have yet to cut the tops off mine but know whatever is in there is rotted cause all but one lag pulled right out!

I bet you will still be able to see what was there originally. As to doubling up the stringers, I can't answer that, except to say, my boat had half inch wide stringers to begin with. I'm using 3/4 to rebuild with, and I'm sure it will be plenty strong. You have to think about added weight too.

Couple pics of my stringers I hope to glass next week. Have you browsed the stickies at the top of this forum? There are links to a few builds that have loads of great help.

Yes Ive been shearching stickies and threads. I have at my disposal some scrap lam beam material that I think would work awesome for the material that the lag screws screw into, its 1 3/4" thick. I also have some good news! I think I have found the end point of the rot on my port side outboard stringer, had to take it just shy of the cuddy bulk head but atleast I got to good dry wood. all the others seem to look and sound fine. So it looks like Ill be sistering the back of 3 and replacing one full length. Posting pics but their not very good.

Re: ok cpl questions about stringers and my motor mounts

I was watching some of FriscoJarrets videos yesterday and noticed that his two inner most stringers came in contact with his transom where its doubled up. My inner most stringers set just outside of the doubled up portion of my transom. It woudlnt be hard to just make the doubled up portion a tad bit wider so these inner most stringers will then rest against the thicker portion of my transom. Is there any need or benefit of doing it this way?

Benefit is added strength to the transom which benefits the outdrive/motor connection...IMHO.

So I guess Ill do that! make it slightly wider! guess it makes sense if you think about the outdrive pushing the boat on the transome and the 2 inner most stringers (largest stringers) absorbing most of the forward stress.
