Yes I absolutely have water coming into my oil. Took it into the shop today and had pressure test done - AND IT PASSED!? Has anyone ever heard of a boat that passed a pressure test and it was the seals? Thoughts on how this could be?

In most cases No. but this would also make me ask how did they test it and at what pressure, and for how long? Just because they say they did does not mean they actually did. It could be an honest mistake as, Oh I thought the other guy did it, or it could be "they have done so many we knew it didn't need to be done sort of thing.

Pull it and test it your self with a bike pump and some fitttings

Well it may not leak under pressure. It will leak under a vacume sometimes also. When the drive is cooling down it pulls in the water. Did they do a vacume test?

Yes they definitely did the test...I was talking to the mechanic on the phone and he was trying to figure it out too. He had 15psi on it for at least 30 minutes. The water is coming in under pressure as after a go for a drive the level is going up, before anything has had time to cool down. BTW, this is a Alpha one outdrive. He was going to fill it up with oil and run it with the water on to see if it would leak again...I'm not sure it will as it seemed to go up when I was going at higher speeds. My other neighbor was a marine mechanic and he has never heard of this either!? And trust me there was lots of water in the oil...I drained out at least 1/2cup from the resevour to keep it at the full line.

Search here on iboats, you can find others which this has happened to. Some have been the quad ring while others have been the shift shaft seal

Yeah I've searched and haven't found anyone with similar issues. I've heard of the shift shaft seal letting water into the bilge but not into the outdrive. If it was leaking it should be caught in a pressure test, no?

What is the quad ring and how does that prevent water for going into the outdrive?

The shift shaft seal won't leak into the bilge. It's in the lower half of the drive. Now the shift cable bellow will leak water into the bilge, but not into the drive.
