Can oil pressure be to high? what should the presure be on a 1989 OMC 4.3? When on the lake it stayed about 20 at idle but went to 60 and even 80 when accelerating. is that to high? What might cause it? Its a new motor. The oil level is fine.
yes,oil psi can be too high ,not in your case.<br /><br />That is as close to perfect oil pressure you can get.IMO <br />What weight oil are you using?<br />If its a new engine clearances are tight in the bearing area and oil pump is new.<br />change oil+filter after 10-20 hrs if you get that many.but change it at the end of the season for sure.<br />Rich
