Oil pressure sending unit

How can you tell if your oil sending unit is going bad? I have a Volvo 7.4GI PBYCCE.

get a manual and test it.

get a mechanical oil pressure gauge and remove the oil pressure sender and hook up you mechanical oil pressure gauge and see what it reads.

your best tool is a service manual

Understood. My manual's on the boat but I'll check it out. If I purchase a mechanical oil pressure gauge will the fittings supplied with it fit my block?

Ayuh,... If it comes with 1/8" pipe fittin's..
