Oil pressure gauge

Oil pressure was between 40 and 50..I turned around and looked again...it was at 0...running on muffs. Ford 302. Gauge has full volts when key on...oil sender has 9.3..Any suggestions

With key off it reads 0....when I turn key on it pins lower

Wire has fallen off the sender or the back of the gauge. The engine harness connector for that pin has lost contact. Sender has failed. broken wire in the harness somewhere. Take your pick. Pull out a multimeter and do some checking...

So far I have taken wire of sending unit and ground it...gauge pins full...is this normal...I am going to buy a mechanical gauge today

The membrane in the sender may have ruptured, when that happens the sender goes to 0 pressure. Remember you have 50 year old pieces on your engine.
Hopefully that is all that is wrong.

Mechanical gauge reads perfect. Crisis overted....had it in my head engine was coming back out lol

Ground the sender wire at the sender end. That will confirm if the sender's good or not.

I did ground it to the body of the sender. It spiked full.

Right o...I have installed the mechanical and will just keep that
