Oil Level "Window"

Anyone know where I can get a new oil level window? In this picture it's broken, but this picture is old. It's actually long gone. Lots of salt water spray gets in through that hole, I'd really like to replace it. But I haven't had any luck finding these parts.

Something like that would be a dealer only thing.If they can't help,you should be able to make that your self.Thin plexiglas and Gorilla glue.J

Gidday,

I have the same motor as you, and the window on mine has become opaque and I cant see through it. It's not really a big deal, but it annoyes the hell out of me!

I want to order one of those windows to replace, but boats.net won't ship OEM parts out of the US (I am in NZ). Could I buy one from you, and pay extra shipping to NZ?

Heh, sorry, I can't help you. Maybe someone else can. Or, now that you have the secret part number, you can probably get it in person from any Mercury dealer in NZ.

I seem to be missing the metal 'clip" that keeps the window firmly attached to the engine. Did I lose the clip? Or is the clip a separate part? Is there something I can get at a hardware store that will do the job, rather than placing an online order just for one little clip?

So I got my new oil level gauge, but I haven't been able to install it yet. I bought it in the fall. And now, 7 months later, the little metal clip you use to keep the window installed, is gone. I don't know if I lost it, or if it was not in the package when I received it. But I do know that it's gone now, any suggestions on something else I can use?
