Oil leak

I have a 2000 50hp Johnson just had the water pump replaced by a mechanic took the boat out ran great when I got home I flushed it out when I was done I noticed green bluish oil with smell of gas in it coming from weep hole any idea what it could be thanks in advance

Assuming you don't have a lower unit leak and it's pushing oil up out the top and running out that's the classic sludge leak from older outboards. The mechanic probably idled your motor a good bit after the repair to make sure it didn't heat up which will put extra oil and unburnt fuel in the exhaust housing and aft you ran it loosens it up and the force of the exhaust at higher rpms blows more of it down the housing and it will leak out for days later. It mixes with water to have that milky look. That's pretty normal. It gets asked every week at least, already been one this week so far with the same question. Sometimes it's black and sometimes it's more milky and the color of your two stroke oil.

I ran it tonight with the muffs on for about 10 minutes haven’t seen any oil yet but I’ll check it again when I come off the water at higher rpm’s like you said…thanks for the reply

Buy the look of the staining on the paint it could be running a bit rich as well which would make this dripping heavier than normal. Just out of curiosity how much oil do you use per gallon or liter of gas?

2.6 ounces of oil per gallon

That would be correct (50:1). Running rich can also mean that the fuel/air mix is too rich (too much fuel). Not sure what model you have, but look for a slow speed needle valve on the side of the carb. Adjust that clockwise until the engine gives you a light backfire (lean sneeze), then set c.clockwise 1/4 turn. Run the engine in the lake and see if it comes out a bit cleaner.

The oil question was meant to be separate and I was just curious if maybe extra oil was being used but clearly not.
I need to work on using my words.
