I have a 1968 mercruiser i/o 120 hp 4 cyl. When I run at full throttle i leak oil frome the back of the motor right above the oil pan. It runs down where the bell housing is. This is the only spot the oil leaks. When I am running at RPM's less than 4000 it doesn't leak. Could this be the rear main seal? If not any Ideas? It seems to leak when the oil pressure is increased.

Sounds like a rear main seal to me, but I can't see it to say for sure.

on a 30 year old+ motor you should keep the rpm @ 4000 and below anyway.. but yea ,, sounds like the rear main seal..
