Hello,
My dad passed away in January and my mom wants me to sell their boat for her. It's a 1988 Alumicraft Trophy 170 with a 60 Hp Oil injected Mercury. My dad bypassed the oil injection system and used an external gas tank and mixed the oil himself into the tank. I remember years ago he told me the alarm kept going off on the injector and was having trouble with it. So now I need to sell the boat and I think I should hook the injector and original fuel tank back up. What type of oil goes into the injector? just reg 2 cycle? Also on the external fuel tank there is a primer bulb. When I hook the original gas tank back up do I keep the primer bulb attached? What should I be looking for when trying to make this system work again? If I fail and go back to my dad's external tank, what is the oil to fuel ratio that I would use?
Thank you!

This is nothing to play with. If you fail, the motor will be junk.
Accept that your father knew what he was doing.
Sell it as is.
Inform the buyer that the oil needs to be added to the gas.
Actually, it would be a good idea to put it in writing, on the Bill of Sale.
Ratio is 50 to 1
