OIL/Gas Mixture

It must bee the holiday weekend and people want to use their old boat motors. I have a couple different guys asking about oil/gas ratio. They each have 6 HP evinrudes, one is 1966 model 6602E and the other is 1974 (don't know the model #). At what point did OMC switch from 24:1 to 50:1 on these 6 HP outboards?<br /><br />Thanks,<br /><br />Tom Travis

Tom on those smaller motors from 1964-1974 you should use 40:1

Don't agree.<br /><br /><br />Some folks seem to think they know better than the maker.<br /><br />Per OMC: '63 and earlier, use 24:1. '64 and later, use 50:1
